About Ruff Draft

At Ruff Draft, we believe life is better shared—with good friends, great beer, and the dogs who make our days brighter. We built Ruff Draft as more than just a taproom. It’s a place where the Pacific Northwest spirit meets a modern, dog-friendly twist: an indoor off-leash dog park, a craft beer bar, and a place to build community, all under one roof.

Our Story

Like so many dog lovers, we dreamed of a space where pups could play safely while their people relaxed, connected, and enjoyed a drink. But we wanted to go beyond the “dog-friendly” label—you shouldn’t have to choose between grabbing a pint and giving your dog the exercise and enrichment they deserve. Ruff Draft was born from that idea: a place where dogs can play safely, owners can connect, and both can experience a bigger, fuller life—together.

About the Owner

Rachel Peden, CPDT-KA, is the owner and manager of Ruff Draft—and the heart behind its vision. After years in the corporate world, Rachel made the leap to pursue something more meaningful: combining her love of dogs with her passion for building community.

As a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA), is passionate about helping dogs and their families strengthen bonds, build confidence, and create positive experiences together. She believes every dog deserves the chance to explore the world with trust and joy—and every owner deserves the tools and support to make that possible.

At home, Rachel shares life with her husband Mark and three German Shepherds—Kayda, Veli, and Oliver—who inspire her daily with their loyalty, intelligence, and personalities. She has also opened her home to foster dogs over the years, giving them a safe place to land and a chance at a brighter future.
